My first trip to the Children's Garden in 2005 with grandson Adam, five years old was a delight.  As we entered this amazing garden we were given a plastic bag that contained a tiny blue spruce seedling.  Adam and I spent a fun afternoon in the garden and upon arriving home I planted the seedling.

I live in a townhouse and worried that the lawn service would mow it over.  I protected the seedling with a bit of wire fencing and it thrived, as did Adam.

He is now 18 studying engineering at MSOE.  He is over six feet tall and so is my lovely Blue Spruce!
