When we moved to Villa Park over 40 years ago, elm trees along both sides of north Ardmore Avenue formed a lovely tunnel that provided shady respite on simmering summer days.
The elm tree on our parkway in Villa Park was my reading tree in the 1950s.
I grew up on Main Street in Lisle. My grandpa worked and my grandparents lived in The Morton Arboretum, so trees were a big part of my life!
