For as long as I can remember, trees have been part of my life. As a child, I had countless hours climbing into the nearest tree, and staying there for hours. When my mom came looking for me, she would go outside and yell, "Colleen!" I'd say "I'm over here." She would laugh and say "which one are you in??" I always felt peace in my trees. As I grew up, I started looking at trees differently. Wondering what stories they could tell, what history they had seen, who had rested beneath them. Now, I look at their beauty, how their beautiful colors in the fall, are a gift to us, and am thankful for the shade they give us in the hot days of summer.
