My Childhood Tree

I grew up in Quincy, IL and when you reach the 4th grade, on Arbor Day, each child is presented with a tree to take home and plant in their family's yard.

My father and I planted my tree next to the driveway of my childhood home.

Every time I go to Quincy to visit my brother and his family, I always make a side trip to my childhood home to see my tree. It has been more than fifty years since my dad and I planted that tree but it is still there today.
