Gift from my Dad

My husband and I bought a home in Homer Glen, IL in 1997. Even though the home was 10 years old, none of the previous owners felt that adding trees was an important investment. Within a month we had added six beautiful autumn purple ash and two seedless green ash trees to our yard. These trees were a housewarming gift from my parents. Never did We think that the importance of these trees would be so much more than aesthetic at that time.

Jump ahead eleven years to 2008 my father passes away from prostate cancer, and I start hearing of a horrible little bug called the Emerald Ash Borer that is destroying Ash trees. We started treating them immediately and have continued to do so for 10 years. Yes, it has cost us a small fortune, but you see those Ash trees mean so much more to us than that. For us they represent life. My dad loved those trees and told us one day that they would live on long after he was gone... we intend on doing everything in our power to make sure that happens. ❤️
