I'll call my story the ugly duckling story, because my cherry tree was a baking cherry.
Our family tree's story goes back over seven years ago to a small town in Oklahoma.
We've lived in Elk Grove for almost 20 years. The previous owner of the house was a seed merchant and ran his company out of our home.
My parents retired to a smaller home in the Aurora area as they aged, and their home had a cherry tree in the backyard. I would visit them weekly from the north suburbs with my children.
